The Culture of the Tày People
Costume: The traditional attire of the Tày people is typically made of black chàm fabric, with minimal floral patterns or decorations. Men usually wear a four-panel tunic with a round neckline, chest slit, small and long sleeves, and two pockets on the front tails. The trousers are often tailored in the chan què style, with a leaf-shaped waistband.
Cuisine: The staple food of the Tày people is t? rice, used to prepare daily dishes such as rice, porridge, c?m lam (bamboo-cooked rice), noodles, and c?m (green rice flakes). A unique delicacy of the Tày people is the ant egg cake, where the filling is made from eggs of black ants, combined with fat, salt, ginger, or shallot leaves.
Artistic Traditions: The Tày people have a rich repertoire of folk tunes including l??n, then, quan lang, hát ví, hát ru, and hát ??ng dao.
