Minor Hotels Celebrates Success with 35 Accolades In 2022 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards

Minor Hotels, the hotel owner, operator and investor behind the Anantara, Avani, Tivoli, NH Collection and Elewana hotel brands, is delighted to announce a total of 35 accolades awarded to its properties worldwide in the 2022 Condé Nast Traveler US and UK Readers’ Choice Awards. Currently with a portfolio of over 530 hotels, resorts and branded residences across six continents, Minor Hotels continues to take the lead on the global hospitality stage with these prestigious awards that signal the luxury lifestyle and travel community’s unwavering confidence in the group’s brands.

?The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry. Each year, the publications conduct an online survey in which readers rate their travel experiences to provide a veracious account of the best hotels, resorts, cities, countries, islands, spas, trains, airlines, airports and cruises in the world. This year, which marks the 25th anniversary of the awards, an astounding 240,000 readers cast their votes across these categories to award impeccable service and memorable travel moments. The 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards are published on the Condé Nast Traveler US and UK websites and celebrated in the November issues of the magazines.

?Leading these great results for Minor Hotels, four resorts and two hotels have been named in the overall global lists. In the Best 50 Resorts in the World, Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara was placed #10; Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Resorts #16; Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara #23 and Elewana Kilindi Zanzibar #36. In the Best 50 Hotels in the World, Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels by Tivoli in Doha was #39 and The Marker Dublin placed at #49.

Minor Hotels’ properties dominated in the highly contested Best 12 Resorts in the Middle East category. Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara shot up the rankings to #3, closely followed by Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Resorts in Abu Dhabi #4, Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara in the Liwa Desert in the UAE #5 and Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort in Oman #6. Further adding to the group’s burgeoning list of accolades in the region, Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels by Tivoli placed #5 in the Best 20 Hotels in the Middle East, closely followed by Anantara Eastern Mangroves Abu Dhabi Hotel at #7.

Condé Nast Traveler readers applauded Minor Hotels’ luxury camping experiences by awarding a total of four Elewana Collection properties in the Best 15 Resorts in Eastern Africa. Elewana Kilindi Zanzibar in Tanzania was #2, Elewana Lewa Safari Camp in Kenya #3, Elewana Tarangire Treetops in Tanzania #9 and Elewana Elsa’s Kopje in Meru, Kenya, #10. Furthermore, The Royal Livingstone Zambia Hotel by Anantara placed #8 in the Best 15 Hotels in Southern Africa and Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort in Mozambique secured the #5 spot in the Best 20 Resorts in the Rest of Africa.

Exclusive luxury island haven, Naladhu Private Island Maldives, was voted #9 in the Best 25 Resorts in the Indian Ocean. In addition, the winners in this highly competitive category include ultimate over water villa experience Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas at #14 and serene surfers’ paradise Niyama Private Islands Maldives at #25.

In Minor’s home market of Thailand, Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort, renowned for its innovate Jungle Bubbles that allow guests the unique opportunity to observe majestic elephants in their natural habitat by night, was voted #2 in the coveted Best 15 Resorts in Thailand. With a very strong overall performance, further Minor Hotels placing in this category are Anantara Hua Hin Resort at #8, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort at #11 and Avani+ Samui Resort at #15. ?In the wider Asia category, Anantara Angkor Resort in Siem Reap, Cambodia, made it into the Best 20 Resorts at #19.

In Europe, the group saw further success with numerous accolades for its Anantara, NH Collection and Tivoli hotel brands. Anantara’s first property in Europe, Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort, once again made the cut for Best 25 Resorts in Europe placing at #11. The resort, which opened to considerable fanfare in 2017 as Anantara’s debut property in Europe, moved up the rankings by four places to secure this prestigious accolade. The Best 20 Hotels in Northern Europe 2022 list features NH Collection Amsterdam Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky at #8, which this year has rebranded to Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam, while the NH Collection brand saw further European success with NH Collection Prague placing #19 in the 20 Best Hotels in Central Europe.

In addition to being recognised as one of the Best 50 Hotels in the World, The Marker Hotel, a contemporary landmark in Dublin, was voted #2 for Best 10 Hotels in Ireland. For Best 20 Hotels in Italy, the readers’ votes placed NH Collection Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi at #3, while Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel and NH Collection Roma Fori Imperiale landed #5 and #6 respectively for Best 10 Hotels in Rome. For Best 25 Hotels in Spain and Portugal, Tivoli Palácio de Seteais Sintra Hotel in Portugal made the list for a second year running at #17.

Founded in 1933, Tivoli Hotels & Resorts, which currently operates 16 hotels with properties in Portugal, Brazil, China and Qatar, saw success in the South America category.?Tivoli Mofarrej S?o Paulo, located in the noble Jardins district just moments away from the iconic Avenida Paulista, returned to the Best 20 Hotels in South America list at #12.
