Minnesota State University, Mankato Launches new Micro-Internship Program
Minnesota State University, Mankato has started a new program to help employers who do not have the capacity to host a full internship program with students. These micro-internships are project-based paid opportunities for students that typically take 10-40 hours of work to complete. I've copied a description of the program from the University below:?

Recruit Talent with Micro-Internships! Build a better pathway from college to career using Micro-Internships as a feeder into existing internship and early career full-time hiring efforts. You’ll connect with a more diverse network of candidates, attract students who may not have previously considered roles at your organization, and identify candidates that have the skills to succeed. ?Micro-Internships improve hiring outcomes while helping busy professionals get work done. ?Mico-Internships are short-term, paid, professional projects. ?Simply put, employers identify a project that they could have a student complete (examples- data entry, creation of promotional materials, website edits, organization, etc.) and post them on the Parker Dewey Site. ?Employers can connect with only local students by marking that in their posting! Attend an upcoming information session or view the resource below to learn more!
Greater Mankato Internship Exploration Document/Directory - Missing Career Fields
Greater Mankato Growth has been working to collect those recurring internships that exist in the community so that we can provide these to our local college students to help them find opportunities in the community and to high school students to learn what can exist for them when they return to the region. These don't need to be internships that exist every year, but they should be internships that occur on a somewhat consistent basis and not one-time-only internships. For a full description of this directory check here: Now Announcing: Regional Internship Directory | LinkedIn
At present we have 30 internships in the directory, and I'll be sharing the working document shortly, but in the meantime, I wanted to highlight those career pathways where we have no internships so that you can consider submitting yours for the directory. When sending out the working document, we will be working with the MN Department of Education to get formal descriptions of the pathways to help you if you are not sure where your internship falls.
