ResourceCo CEO Jim Fairweather and SA Minister for Environment and Water David Speirs

ResourceCo is delighted to commence works on enhancements to its soil storage facility, designed to improve local amenity.

The leading Australian resource recovery company has worked closely with the local community and the South Australian Government in redesigning the Meyer Road site.

“This is a great example of everyone working together to achieve good environmental, aesthetic and economic outcomes,” said ResourceCo CEO Jim Fairweather.

“We’ve been operating from this location for close to two decades and we look forward to continuing to work alongside the community in making an ongoing contribution to the local economy and employment.”

The site works, due to commence next week, will see improvements to the natural landscape surrounds which will visually shield the site operations, as well as the enhancement of the natural vegetation corridor along Meyer Road.

The landscape design, which follows an extensive community engagement and consultation process, reflects the areas natural undulating form, and includes plantings of grasses and native shrubs.

SA Minister for Environment and Water David Speirs said the process shows what’s possible when local communities, Government and industry work together to drive solutions.

As well as providing additional screening, additional investment will be made in an integrated dust management strategy.?This will see the installation of a semi-permanent, automatic irrigation system linked to dust and wind monitors, which will operate both during and after work hours, as well as a fogging system.
