Minister or Politician?
Fifteen years as a Presbyterian minister has taught me a valuable lesson: being a minister is remarkably similar to being a politician. Balancing a congregation's diverse needs while maintaining integrity is a delicate art.
Just like politicians, ministers are often in the spotlight, facing constant scrutiny. We're expected to be perfect, but we're human too. We make mistakes, we get tired, and we have lives outside of our roles.
Let's remember that our ministers and elected officials are people dedicated to serving their communities. They face immense pressures and challenges. So, let's offer grace, support, and understanding as they navigate complex issues.
What do you think about the similarities between ministry and politics? Could you share your experiences and perspectives?
