Minister of Economic Development and Technology visits COSTELLA

On Wednesday, 18 January 2017, the mineral water bottling plant Costella saw the visit of Zdravko Po?ival?ek, Minister of Economic Development and Technology. Luka Velepi?, the plant’s General Manager and Costella CEO, introduced the company’s current position, its short-term goals, plans and vision for the development of the company and the Costella brand going forward. The Municipality of Kostel which is one of the smallest and most underdeveloped in the country sees the plant as essential for this region. The success of the company would generate work places and indirectly benefit the municipal coffers. The second most forest-rich municipality in Europe is situated amidst unspoilt nature on the River Kolpa, and hopes to fully develop its untapped potential by developing top-quality experience-based tourism products that cater to guests shunning mass tourism destinations. Mr Velepi? also addressed the current issues faced by Costella and the Slovenian beverage industry on account of the order setting out the amount of the concession fee for bottled groundwater in 2017.

Following the presentation and a tour around the production facility, Zdravko Po?ival?ek, Minister of Economic Development and Technology, said: “I was pleasantly surprised by the bottling plant Costella and its automated, computerised production process and state-of-the-art technology. The carefully controlled work flow, the neatly organized production facility, and lastly the company’s bold business plans are indeed impressive. The reorganisation of the plant by the new management has paid off, and the faith put into the quality of the product paved the way for a new success story. The exceptional purity and stability of the local aquifer puts Costella on a par with other highest ranking Slovenian brands. I would like to use this opportunity to wish the management and the new owner all the best on the way to achieving their goals, and every success with the positioning of the Costella brand in the Middle East and Asia.”
