Mining Your Own Dang Business

Summer approaches in the Northern Hemisphere and, with that, gears are switching. For me, it is time to go for my own kind of proverbial sojourn and walkabout.
Yes, for me, June 21 aligns with cluing up Intersession in my Academic Calendar... and I lead into about two months of that new gear, focusing on rest and reset. 10 months of being fully on in teaching and enterprise, these next few weeks are development days for me; and a huge part of that is rest and reset.
I get my rest and I start development on work for both Epic Engage and my teaching at CNA in the Fall. July is a full on rest month, with some cool reflection. August there is more of rest, reset and development. That said, of late I have been posting on:
As I reflect on those musings, and consider my conversation with Guy Matthews last evening around minding our own dang business, I am taking 70 days (June 21 through August 28, and my return to the new College year) to do just that. Minding our own business is not simply about avoiding judging and gossip and backbiting (though vitally important). It is about tending to our true business, personally and professionally. For me, that means reflecting on my "70 Thing"... that sense of soulful vision for the next 8 years, running up to 2030. The global goals have that time frame (and I dig them as opportunities for us all to serve, make a living, and build a better future and world)... and I choose to align my own path forward towards 2030, and my own version of that "70 Thing".
It means practicing courageous Truthfulness, Candor and Honesty with myself. What gets cut, kept and added going forward? What is my own rendition of Simple Man? What is my best sense of Boldness and Curiosity ahead?
My #bestlittledogintheworld Panda still teaches me the importance of courageous Truthfulness, Candor, Honesty, Boldness and Curiosity to mind my own business; to mine my own business. In writing on education and experience yesterday, I offered these words...
Over these coming weeks, my rest and rest will be an Education, discerning joyfully and soulfully on what matters most. I will prayerfully reflect on these words and how I will choose to strive to best manifest same.
My sharing on LinkedIn will be sharing Virtues Cards as the spirit moves, TUGtv, and A PEACE of WORK ... and this post reshared. The rest of my time will be rest, reset, care and mining my own dang business.

Yesterday, I posted on LinkedIn:
These next few weeks and months will be governed thusly. The other side is now extended, lol. So, what is the "business" that you need minding and mining? Get clear on your "musts of soul"; them big rocks so to speak. Oh, and with that in mind, here are some things that Joe Calloway offered up this morning on things we can let go. Food for thought.
