Minimum Opening Pressure

We often hear about the minimum pressure and hydraulic valve needs to operating, however, it isnot clear wether this means pressure at which the valve starts opeening, pressure at which we have the nominal flow rate or pressure at which we can have the maximum Kv flow rate.

Thanks to a bunch of simulations combined with several bench tests where different parameters (pressure head loss, instant flow rate or temperature among others) are monitored we have developed an algorithm aimimg to provide a different approach to this topic. On a future post / article, the way this opening pressure is calculated will be explained

Rather than saying which is the "pressure needed to open/operate the valve", thanks to our APP based algorithm, customers can simulate the pressure needed in the inlet in order to have a certain pressure and a certain flow rate downstream, meaning final user will stablish the pressure & flow rate needed downstream and the APP will provide the presure needed upstream together with the water speed.

On the video shown below, we do introduce the valve size (3Inch) , the flow rate need (25 m^3/h) and 8 meters (0,8 bar), and the app is telling us the pressure needed upstream
