Hello, LinkedIn community! Last week, I completed a three-part mini-series on "Edification" in the workplace. A culture is best when edification is the foundation of our interactions and mission. Below are some recap notes:
Hol Up - Definition: To uplift, build up, and improve skills, morality, emotions, and intellect. Ultimately empowering people. Now, the recap can continue.
Embrace Every Dimension of Diversity
The importance of diversity in the workplace cannot be overstated. However, embracing diversity isn't always straightforward. A common challenge is empowering the difference from a respectful foundation.
Business leaders can establish exclusionary practices, behaviors, and patterns if they are not careful. Every form of difference is real-time and must be integrated into the culture. Do you have a zero-tolerance protocol for leaders who dismiss specific dimensions of diversity that go far beyond race and ethnicity?
Integrate a True Spirit of Inclusion
Include all. Everyone. Everywhere. Question - do you have a superficial inclusive culture? Are you embracing different ideas, oppositions, and opposable minds? Are you suffering from agreement syndrome, or are you intentionally baking in disagreement to ensure a truly inclusive culture? The edifying culture is an authentic culture mirroring the imperfections of humanity on a daily pursuit.

Valuing Principled Critiques
A principled critique is not against you, but it is for you! Mature communication in the workplace, in the form of principled critiques, is crucial for growth. Communication that is helpful for improvement should be received unemotionally. I had to learn this stubbornly. Now, it is an asset working wonders in my relationships and work life.
Edify Your Talent
Design a playbook that you work from instead of developing leaders from your mind. It could be the differentiator of retaining top talent.
The mini-series has over 160 minutes viewed. I hope you get a chance to check it out!
