Mini Me: A Week in The Life with My AI
As a Mum of 3, running a growth business? I’ve often thought I’d love to clone myself and create a mini me to make some more time.? With the recent advances in AI - this dream has been made possible.??
For sure, there is a lot of content around the risks and the opportunities - but this is similar to the democratisation of scientific calculators in the 1970’s or search in the 90’s.??
The worry was we would all become stupid, lose skills or purpose. ? But in reality, we adjust, we learn, we grow and ultimately in order to succeed we have to let the machines do the tasks they can in order for humanity to operate at a higher level - think creatively, critically and come up with the ideas; something machines at this current level cannot do.
After the initial burst of media attention there has been a plateauing of excitement .. novelty has been replaced in some cases by business as usual … and without the adequate workflows it will be hard for your business to capitalize.?
Over the last year as a business we are grabbing the opportunity to improve workflows and processes.? But also establish how as individuals we can be supported and continue to grow.?
I’d like to share some highlights from the last week and how using AI has supported me in my day to day role, freeing me from time consuming tasks and allowing me more time to communicate internally, ensure our goals are on track, build new products and get deeper into new and exisiting markets.??
Monday - Innovation + Documentation?
In general I like to keep Monday mornings as focus time - clear of meetings, quitting slack and email to concentrate on big tasks or high priority items.
Last year was big for us in terms of innovation and we had to ensure high quality documentation.? The process was repetitive and whilst the projects were unique, the formula to document them was not.?
We had to evaluate 10 projects using the same criteria?
Writing up a summary of each of these key points - and using prompts around “think like a software engineer” I was able to get ChatGPT to provide me detailed answers around each of these key areas.??
This task last year would have taken me at least a day - but took around 90 mins to quality assure and complete.? I was then able to work with our finance team to allocate costs and get this off the list.?
Tuesday - Product Development?
Tuesday is always a running day for me, so start the day feeling more creative and ready to tackle big future plans. . We have recently completed our MVP for “AdBillr” a software tool that centralises billing across all ad platforms and sends invoices to our clients.
Whilst it's a strong start, we need to embark on phase 2 as we scale this.? Working with our CTO to check all we needed in terms of output, functionality and timescales I was able to prompt ChatGPT to build some requirements that was enough to send to our user experience designer and also development team - with a few clarifications we have been able to work up a plan covering
We still have work to do but this gave us a solid foundation and saved days of work.? No AI for wireframes yet but one for the future!?
Wednesday - Sales?
Usually a very busy day for meetings, we also have our Big Stretch and office yoga.? Currently we have a laser focus on international growth which continues to be? a significant part of our strategy going forward.? We have recently updated our strategy to develop this further.? To get a different perspective, I ran this through ChatGPT so it would evaluate the robustness of the plan.? I was able to use various plugins to go deeper into numbers, links and graphs.

It gave me the positives, the areas where there was a gap as well as constructive insights on where to improve.? For example some recommendations?
Whilst insights can at first seem generic, it's helpful to dig deeper in terms of asking for a score of likelihood of success, going from a 70% to 85/90% if taking into account the recommendations and insights.? Then providing some deeper action points on how to get there.?
Thursday - People
Our initial screening interviews are online, so we record this with Otter.AI .. (with the candidates permission)?
We then will upload the transcript to Bard or ChatGPT - compare it against our values, culture and mission and get a score of how likely this person is to work out and enjoy life at our company.
This is a really helpful perspective when hiring a lot of people. ? Similarly we can use this at exit interviews to ensure employees are heard and we can create a meaningful action plan if there are areas that need to be changed.?
Friday - Community?
On Friday we have team learning and 121s so the focus is on internal and our team getting what they need.
We tried to get the AI? to come up with some new and fresh solutions to help us do good for our community and team as part of our wellbeing initiatives.? In general these were quite broad but we looked at our key areas of wellbeing across health, mental, emotional, environmental, financial and social and came up with two new projects that fitted with our goals.?
Saturday - Family
After recently being inspired by Mark Beaumont and his daughter, I worked with my daughter - Darcy (7) to create a training plan to complete 100 mile cycle - 10 miles per week for 10 weeks
Sunday - Food?
Always looking for inspiration - prompted the AI to help me think of fun, family dinner ideas .. for anyone still reading we had a Taco Bar …?
“Lay out a spread of taco fillings like seasoned ground beef, shredded chicken, beans, guacamole, salsa, cheese, and more. Don't forget hard shells, soft tortillas, and a side of Mexican rice.”
Bonus task - I used imagine.art to create my graphic in 2 mins?
