Mineral Resource Manager | UG Base Metals | Africa

The Company

A thriving multi-commodity resource company, holding mining operations and development projects across several continents. To be located at the groups key copper business and underground operation in Africa,?a Mineral Resource Manager is required to come on board and lead mine geology and geotechnical functions for the underground operation.

Responsibilities:

• Management of geology and geotechnical departments of the mine;
• Manage grade control, resource/reserve definition and mine site exploration activities;
• Development, implementation, training and management of grade control practice;
• Lead teams to focus on process implementation and continuous improvement;
• Oversee resource and reserve reporting;
• Work closely with mine engineering and planning stakeholders to ensure sound technical decision making;
• Lead and oversee geotechnical engineering processes and practice;
• Ensure safe working procedures are adhered to at all times.??

Requirements:

• Recognised University Degree in Geoscience discipline;
• Prior experience working as an expat outside of home country origin;
• Extensive underground production experience in metalliferous mining setting;
• Working knowledge & experience with software such as Leapfrog, Datamine, etc (advantageous);
• High calibre leadership, interpersonal & communication capability.??
