The Mindset: The Story MS Dhoni left behind for everyone!

25 years ago, had anyone dared to predict that India would gracefully place a rover on the moon, that Indian athletes would stand proudly atop Olympic podiums and hoist World Cup trophies, or that numerous tech giants would boast Indian CEOs at their helm, they would have been met with resounding laughter. Yet, here we are today, witnessing these very achievements. Two centuries of oppressive British colonial rule cast a shadow on the Indian psyche, leading many to perceive themselves as third-world citizens incapable of competing in the modern world. However, as the famous saying goes, "times change!"

The present generation of Indians is no longer content with playing second fiddle to developed nations in sports, cinema, education, entrepreneurship, and beyond. They are eager to leave their indelible mark on the global stage, announcing their arrival with a resounding drumbeat. What catalyzed this transformation? A shift in mindset! It would be remiss not to mention the former Indian cricket captain, MS Dhoni, in this context.

Rewinding to 2008, the Indian cricket team embarked on a tour of Australia, a team at the pinnacle of its game. A young Dhoni led the charge, and the momentous occasion came at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) after 22 years. Defeating the Australians on their home turf was nothing short of a Herculean feat. Ricky Ponting and his squad perceived each loss as an 'UPSET,' but Dhoni had a different approach.

With just 10 runs needed to secure victory, Dhoni, oddly, requested a change of gloves. In cricket, glove changes often relay information from the dugout to the field. However, Dhoni was sending a clear message back to the dugout. 'No celebrations on the balcony when we win this match,' he signified. Dhoni believed that excessive jubilation would make the Australians attribute the Indian win to sheer luck. His message was loud and clear: "This isn't a one-time fluke; we are here to stay." This mindset earned him the title of the Greatest Captain of all time.

Today, India is dismantling the chains of the colonial-era slave mentality, growing at an unprecedented pace. This story serves as a testament to today's youth: unleash your best in every endeavor by simply shifting your mindset. Never relinquish faith in yourself, even when the whole world doubts you.
