MINDSET SHIFT: LETTING PEOPLE GO IS NOT A FORM OF ARROGANCE OR JUDGEMENT.
Rather its a choice to make a better life for you.
I meet Experts who want to get paid online. And before I even approach the Expert Activation Technique, I talk to them about what their world looks like.
I ask "When's the last time you did an audit for a friendectimy"
Oh wait. Sorry.
Friendectimy. (Verb): To look at 5 people who spend the most time with on average and remove those who are NOT helping lead you to your better life.
Also known as "Your Net-Work is your Net-Worth" Drake: In My Feelings
OK...so I ask them the friendectimy question.
And 9 times out of 10, I'll hear them say "Never Bob!"
And then I'll try and be funny and be like "What NEVA!!"
...and if they really are my people they'll say "HARDLY EVAAAAAA!"
Right so here's the point. Your life isn't high school anymore.
This idea of not "selling" people out for the cool kids or being so persistent at being loyal that you're a martyr ... that helps no one and only hurts you.
To help with the Friendectimy review, here are 3 types of people you ALWAYS want in your life to find success as an Entrepreneur.
1. The Mentor
Whether a business coach or just your Mom ... who is that person that is regularly guiding you to be your better self. They ask you powerful questions and challenge you to move on up. I've had many mentors in my life. Why? Because every time I make it to comfort, I know it's time for me to find another mentor to help me level up again. It's an evolution, not a one time race.
2. The Hero
Who do you aspire to be? Whom do you admire? Who represents the person that you want to grow into? Me? Simon Sinek. Why? I know that I have so many thoughts and theories about how the energy of Entrepreneurship works. To be able to put effectively into word as he does what those thoughts are is an incredible talent and gift. So I research how he spends his days, what habits work for him, and even looking at who HIS mentor is.
3. The Twin
Here's reality. When you're in the poop of Entrepreneurship, and you're looking up at the Mentor and the Hero, the sun can sometimes be blinding. Having that person or people with whom you can share war stories with. Who you can vent to, and be vent for them. The people who share your values, your aspirations, and most importantly your energy.
