The Mindset of Plenty for Business Leaders

Aren’t getting the results you truly want in your business? Maybe it’s all in your mind.

Before you get frustrated, let me explain a bit more about the abundance/success framework within the deeper, mostly automatic subconscious mind.

The subconscious is our visual and imaginative mind, conjuring up our thoughts and desires. However, when we focus on what we do NOT want, our mind struggles. Have you ever tried not to think of something and found you can’t stop thinking about it? Try not to think of a butterfly, and it will usually flash quickly to mind.

It's crucial to curate your “wishes” (or repetitive thoughts) to focus on what you DO want in your professional life. I know it’s hard, especially when you're dealing with an underperforming team, a tough client relationship, a cluttered workspace, or a shrinking bottom line. You're surrounded by what you don’t want right now!

But running away from what you don’t want may never get you any closer to what you really do want.

This is where creativity (or support) comes in to craft a new focus. Think about a highly productive team, a harmonious client relationship, an organized workspace, and an expanding profit margin.

Yet it's more than that. Without taking the next steps, we’ll only hear (and follow) the voice that says, “That’s not us; that’ll never happen.”

The trifecta of imagining, feeling, and action are the ingredients to the secret sauce of plenty.

Imagining the “final” business goal can be helpful. But even imagining small achievements can build your abundance muscles. These small successes reinforce themselves, leading to daily achievements.

When imagining, it’s also important to feel. Adding emotions to our visualizations super-charges them. Interestingly, dedicating time for daily imagining with an emphasis on feelings can sometimes shift and adapt our rigid business goals. Perhaps profit share the stage with better team engagement or client satisfaction, which may look different yet feel "right". The subconscious is the creative and creating mind – let it use its power!?

Steps don’t have to be monumental. Imagine a ladder – closely spaced rungs still help you to ascend to great heights (rather than struggling with gigantic spaces that you may never reach).

You are the central character in your professional (and personal) life. Actively participating, rather than being a spectator, tends to reveal more opportunities around us. What we focus on tends to show up in our reality. When we start in the most helpful direction, it’s easier to keep moving that way.

When we imagine fully and take our first steps towards it, we can start to share our progress. Not only are habits more likely to succeed with accountability or sharing, but showing our vulnerability during times of transition also demonstrates that change is possible. I love the idea of the lit candle that helps in lighting others. That’s how I see business leaders who start the change process – as guiding beacons for others.

Subconsciously, there's another bonus to sharing our change. Light attracts light, and like attracts like. When we give – our insights, our changing positive situation – it suggests to our minds that we have prosperity to spare, enhancing and increasing it in our own lives even more.

And it feels so good. To change… and to share. Speaking of sharing, it would be great to hear about your process and whether these steps might help you boost your plenty "muscles"!

Upcoming Opportunity (only if you want to feel more energized, in control, calm and resilient...)

While I usually don’t “advertise” in my newsletter, I want to share that I'm holding an “Introduction to Tired, Mired, Wired, Ired (no more)” class on July 23, 2024, from 7-8:30pm CDT. If you've been feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, frantic, or annoyed, this will help get you on the path (even if you can’t attend on the day, you’ll get access to the recording after!). It’s only $34, and all proceeds go to the North Texas Food Bank – helping provide over 100 meals, so you’re contributing to sharing your plenty. Find out a bit more, or take action and sign up here!

Doing good and doing well,

Jennifer
