Mindset is Everything
On a hot summer day passing by national highway, I came across a road side clay artist creating beautiful artifacts out of the clay. I stood there and observed him for a while being amazed by the creativity and skills. Certainly owing to over enthusiasm, asked him a question... 'How are you doing this?' In reply, he spoke nothing and placed a pile of mud in front of me and stated, please try something...
I was amazed a bit, afraid of being failed, somewhere trying to skip out of the challenge placed, replied him 'I know nothing'. He responded again, please try...
I stopped and gazed the pile of the mud for a while. It appeared to me as if I was asked to climb Mount Everest and certainly much more than that.
The clay artist again requested, please try... meanwhile gave me confidence that even if I fail, I will not be ashamed of not giving it a try or nor putting in best possible efforts to do the best of my knowledge, however, on the other side, if I succeed and create something, 'I will be the most proud and happiest person on the earth'.
After being boosted and with the commitment to prove something, I put in the requisite efforts and after an hour or so created a Hut surrounded by woods... I quoted, "it's done..."
He smiled and said... 'It is not the tools that create, it's the mind and that is the answer to all your fear and queries.
The moment you entered, your mind was blind, "a blind mind would have left the mud thinking that it is impossible to create anything with the mud... However, post my request, convincing and motivating, you made-up your mind and were committed to prove yourself, finally tried and succeeded... Make it a note sir, 'success never comes to those who step back of challenges being confronted. It comes to those, who accept it and at-least try to do something new within the confined resources being offered'.
