For the past 10 years, I have been trying to get the answer to a question: ‘What ultimately makes entrepreneurs different from the rest of other people?’?

When I founded MobileCoderz with a vision to make innovation and technology more accessible and affordable, I have been learning new things, employing smart techniques, and encountering new challenges.?

But the special thing for which I am endeavoring the most to make my vision successful is to have an entrepreneurial mindset.?

Why?

Thomas Alva Edison changed the world through his revolutionary invention-electric bulb. His persistence and innovative thinking enabled him to cross over hundreds of failed experiments and finally achieve what he strived for.?

Steve Jobs's strictness and unconventional attitude toward the advancement in computer devices made Apple Inc. today's world's top technology brand.?

Henry Ford, neither an inventor nor a skilled person, brought a massive disruption in the automobile sector in America just through his simple idea of making cars better, faster, and cheaper for all people.?

These are some of the historical entrepreneurs who not just inspired other entrepreneurs but billions of common people. They were able to achieve success through one unique ability. And that is having the mindset of an entrepreneur.

Yes, there is no magic formula for any successful business venture or innovation.?

Successful entrepreneurs are also humans like us. But their outside-of-the-box thinking, unconventional approach to bring change, and strong determination makes them different from the rest of us.?

Whether you aspire to be the next Steve Jobs, Henry Ford, Jeff Bezos, or Zuckerberg, becoming a successful entrepreneur in the 21st century requires the mindset of an entrepreneur.?

In general definition, mindset is a mental faculty, specific cognition behavior, or thought process that affects our decision-making ability. It involves how we perceive situations, real-life challenges, or obstacles. Mindset is nothing but a thinking process that could be positive, negative, or swing anywhere in between.?

The mindset of an entrepreneur is pretty much about a positive thinking process and resilient mental faculty that see any situation from a different perspective than ordinary people. People with this mindset are constantly engaged in thinking and analyzing current situations and generate new ideas to solve existing problems. They are not afraid of implementing their ideas or any concept which bears the potential to bring disruptive change.?

Characteristics Of An Entrepreneurial Mindset

Entrepreneurs are not born from different world, they are also humans like us. They eat the same food, breathe the same air, and live in the same environment. But their attitude and way of thinking toward real-life situations set them apart from others.?

Entrepreneurial mindset does not exclusively refer to the business domain. It rather encompasses human characteristics which are usually not found in mass in general. Here are those characteristics that constitute the mindset of an entrepreneur.

1. Positive Thinking

Positive thinking is one of the prominent mental abilities that people mostly pursue to possess. Everyone faces obstacles, critical challenges, and failures. People generally have the tendency to lose patience, confidence, or be pessimistic or negative about future outcomes.?

However,? an entrepreneur always takes every negative or challenging situation as an opportunity. They have a positive attitude to tackle problems and bring out solutions to move forward. A man who possesses an entrepreneurial mindset is not affected by negative or inferior emotions anyway.

2. Innovative Mind

Every person has brain and possesses thinking ability. On contrary, a successful entrepreneur is more likely to use his innovative and creative abilities to find unique and out-of-the-box solutions than common people. They are able to think creatively because they go beyond the boundaries and explore every possible outcome or idea that exists in the universe.?

3. Problem-Solving Attitude

Without a problem-solving attitude, no entrepreneur can succeed in his venture. He also encounters many problems and hardships. However, despite all the challenges, they don't stop themselves. They think every problem has some solutions. It only requires a problem-solving approach.?

While many people often lose their confidence or even quit before they reach the point of success. But the mindset of an entrepreneur never surrenders to any problems. Therefore, if you see the world's most successful entrepreneurs, they are great problem-solvers.?

4. Persuasive Communication

Words convince people before you bring solutions. Being able to persuade or convince people before you developed an idea or came up with any solution is a remarkable communication ability. Even big Entrepreneurs sometimes don't have solutions to problems at some moment.?

They have to face a lot of criticism and negative comments from others. But they have persuasive communication to effectively and reasonably convey their message or ideas. A successful entrepreneur is an effective communicator. They have knowledge and solid reasons to make people believe in them.?

5. Resilient

The world-famous investor Warren Buffet said, “someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” A true entrepreneur is aware of the fact that big goals take time. They are not afraid of failures or facing unexpected events.?

Therefore, they always keep working and are resilient to all kinds of situations that come in every step of the way. They have a strong heart and mind to tolerate negative forces which hinder their efforts and continue to think forward.?

Just think, what if today's entrepreneurs like Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, or Mark Zuckerberg would have given up at any point in their life? Would we see them today? Not at all. So resilience is a must-have characteristic of an entrepreneurial mindset.?

Being an entrepreneur is an extraordinary experience. You are also the same person as other humans but the ability to use your natural abilities makes you a different person from others. The mindset of an entrepreneur is nurtured with forward-thinking approach, problem-solving attitude, creativity, resilience, goal orientation, courage, leadership, adaptability, and other distinctive qualities that enable them to come up with revolutionary ideas and transform people's life at large. If you possess such abilities, you have the mindset of an entrepreneur.
