In our fast-paced lives, relationships – be they personal or professional – often bear the brunt of our divided attention. This week, we delve into the profound effects mindfulness can bring into our relationships, nurturing them to be more meaningful and enriched.
The Navy SEAL Way: Tuning into Relationships
As someone who has weathered intense challenges as a Navy SEAL, I learned that a foundational pillar of enduring relationships is mindfulness; a deep, in-the-moment presence that allows us to connect genuinely and constructively. That aside, I've also learned in my personal relationships - the one with my wife, the ones I have with my children, and the ones I have with my friends - they are strengthened through my being present in the "here and now" with them!

1 年The very first one is making me think twice about how I am listening. Even with understanding the focus of active listening, it's easy to just fall into this mode of finding a way to say something relevant. Been doing that lately. Going from active back to passive.. All the while thinking we are still active because we are "listening"?. What is causing us to pull away from being present when talking with people? I would imagine it's a little different for everyone.
