Powerful and prescient piece from McSweeney’s. Updates on the moral arc of the universe. The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.”?— Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Thank you to, friend of MMT, Kalyana Bliss for sharing.

From Maria Popova? in The Marginalian. A Lighthouse for Dark Times. Cultures and civilizations tend to overestimate the stability of their states, only to find themselves regularly discomposed by internal pressures and tensions too great for the system to hold…. We too are living now through such a world, caught again between two ages, confused and conflicted, suffocating and suffering. But we have a powerful instrument for self-understanding, for cutting through the confusion to draw from these civilizational phase transitions new and stronger structures of possibility: the creative spirit.

Lovely piece from Atmos.earth (climate and culture). The Tree of Life. There is a tree. It?grows across?metaphors and cosmologies, sciences and religions. In Nordic mythology it is called?Yggdrasil, the world tree whose roots reach into the underworld, trunk forms the?axis mundi?of the Earth, and branches extend into the heavens. In?biology, the tree of life is a conceptual model for mapping and understanding the evolution of all life. Whichever way you look at it, the tree connects us all. It is our past, our present, and our future.

Thanks Nicholas Hammond (he/him) I always appreciate receiving your newsletter and the fresh perspectives offered that I would not have picked up on otherwise. This week I appreciated the thought provoking reflections on the tree of life. I also particularly honoured to receive a mention! Now definitely seems like a very timely moment to be passionate about the Inner Development Goals as a way to impact compassionate leadership and care for the wider world.
