FIND A SPORT !

About 4 years back me and my younger brother founded this tradition to where we’d play basketball at a local basketball court near our mums house in the summer. Since starting its been an amazing tradition and I just schooled his a** the other day again, we’ll be back this weekend for a revenge attempt from him.?


The point I’m trying to make is that there will be different times within your journey whereby just going to the gym to do weights or cardio will get boring.. I’m being honest!?


Some of these times will include:?


Whilst you’re on holiday?

Summer time?

When you’re visiting relatives/ friends/ family?

If things are going on in your life that have you in a bit of a blur/ mood


Now look.. I go to the gym all through the year. Some periods I’m training like I’ve got a role in a movie coming up. Other periods I’m just making sure that I don’t fall back and keep a certain level of strength.?

So as much as you might find resistance training boring, these are just the facts that we can’t avoid. For longevity and a good quality of life you have to keep consistent


The good news is weight training doesn’t always have to look the same, you can switch it up at times?


Strength training (heavy duty work with less repetitions)

Hypertrophy style training (more of a meeting in the middle)?

Circuit training?

Kettlebell training (using just kettlebells)?

Bodyweight stuff

Home workouts with light weights, kettlebells?

Calisthenics [using bars and bodyweight]?


These are all different ways of hitting the same goal - building and/ or keeping muscle.


Obviously you don’t want to be switching every single week or month even for most people as you’re more likely to go down the jack of all trades route?


But something spicy to add into the mix


?that will NOT effect your weight training…


That will NOT even feel like you are exercising…?


That will improve your mental wellbeing and empower all other areas of your life?


That will bring you closer to the people you love by allowing you to kill two birds with one stone…?


Is a sport of sports of your choice.?


Now I know you may have a different background when it comes to playing sports. You may have grown up being picked last for the sports game. You may have hated physical education at school for one reason or another.?


A lot of you probably have bad connotations when it comes to sports. However, if I were you I wouldn’t let your past effect your future. Don’t let a bad experience in the past define whats going to happen going forward.?


I guarantee with all of my heart that there is a sport for you, that you will enjoy, feel good at and be a lovely get away from your usual monotonous routine?


Here are some ‘Sports’ you 100% need to try. Some of them you may be didn’t even know where sports but I guarantee every one that I put on the list will give you a good working and help you burn a sweat / improve your health all in one. I’ll start with the not so obvious ones and save the usual culprits for last.


Table tennis

Badminton

Swimming

Cycling/ Biking

Rock climbing

Kayaking

Beach Volleyball

Windsurfing ( alot of water sports facilities all around, you’’d be surprised )?

Handball

Dancing

Tennis

Street hockey

Squash?

Basketball?

Paintballing



These are just a few there are so many others and some you could get into right away?
