We have come a long way, on the path of education, technology, and lifestyle management. Still, we treat mental health, as a taboo subject or something which doesn't even exist, even though the youth depression rates have risen from 5.9% to 8.2% since 2012.

A mental illness is a physical brain disease that results in cognitive, behavioral, energetic, or emotional abnormalities that make it challenging to manage the day-to-day demands of living.

According to Pinerest.org, the two most common mental health conditions are Anxiety Disorders – More than 18% of adults each year struggle with some type of anxiety disorder, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder (panic attacks), generalized anxiety disorder and specific phobias.

Mood Disorders – Mood disorders, such as depression and bipolar depression, affect nearly 10% of adults each year and are characterized by difficulties in regulating one’s mood.

What You Can Do to Help:

As a leading generation, It is our responsibility to spread awareness about mental health, and need to understand that a healthy mind is equally important as a healthy body. Make your mental health a priority.

  1. Treat people with consideration and acceptance
  2. Always reach out for help and support and talk to your loved ones about your problems.
  3. Meditate your mind

At last, you are not alone because everyone is in the same boat.

Show compassion and love since a good life leads to a happy mind and, "Happy minds are healthy minds".
