Mind Thrive Africa Crowns Her First Ever Essay Competition Winner.

This past Sunday afternoon at 3pm, Mind Thrive Africa held its first essay award ceremony virtually where Mutiyat Raheem, a 400L Microbiology student of the University of Ilorin emerged as the winner of the Mind Thrive Africa Essay Competition.
Earlier this year, Mind Thrive Africa opened submissions for its first essay competition to the public themed “Build The Youth, Build The Nation” to undergraduate students with the aim of gathering possible solutions on how to provide balance between academic knowledge and practical experience in tertiary institutions to aid policy makers.
Five contestants were shortlisted for the final round and the winner was announced at the ceremony on Sunday. Miss Mutiyat went home with a whooping sum of a Hundred Thousand Naira.
The runner ups were also awarded cash prizes too.
Christianah Oluwakemi Quadri, a 300L English Language student of Lagos State University came in second and she was awarded the sum of Fifty Thousand Naira.
Saheed Sunday and Aminu Jeremiah, 300L English Language students of Lagos State University came in third and fourth and they were also awarded the cash prize of Twenty Thousand Naira respectively.

Adewoyin Marvellous, a 500L Civil Engineering student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology came in fifth and was also awarded the sum of Twenty Thousand Naira.
Mind Thrive Africa also invited three guest speakers, erudites in the literary field, Mr Oluwatosin Oludayo, Mr Ayo Ibiyemi and Mr Sunday Oyeleke Michael, to the award ceremony to provide insights on how to write a winning essay and the importance of good essay writing in scholarship applications to the attendees.
They also provided feedback to the shortlisted candidates on their essay submissions and advised them on how their essay writing can be better.
Mind Thrive Africa would like to thank every student who submitted an essay for their contribution to the growth of tertiary education in Nigeria and Africa at large.
