Mind over Matter

In life, we often encounter individuals who possess an innate ability to ignite a spark within us, urging us to reach for the extraordinary.

I wanted to take a moment to express how profoundly Danah Al Ali adventurous spirit and determination have inspired me to embark on my own mountain-climbing journey. Her incredible achievements and unwavering passion for conquering peaks have sparked a fire within me to test my limits and seek the beauty and challenges that mountains have to offer.

It was in 2010 whilst working for Mubadala I came across a few colleagues talking about climbing Mountains. I looked at myself and said, if they can do, so can I. I didn’t even think of the training or expenses involved, only after signing up for it I was surprised. The expenses didn’t discourage me as i was a student doing my Masters in Applied Psychology, all I could see was standing at the Peak! Having said that, my look on healthy lifestyle and growth mindset have ignited in me.

I have decided to take up mountain climbing as a personal challenge, inspired by Dana’s unwavering spirit & the likes of others that I came across. The thought of

standing on lofty peaks, surrounded by nature's grandeur, fills me with both

excitement and a healthy dose of nervous anticipation. I soon realized and was fully aware of the rigorous training, physical endurance, and mental resilience

required to undertake such a feat. It is with this journey that I have learned

what is “ mind of over matter” is all about. The journey has taught me that

with determination and the right mindset, even the most daunting of tasks can

be conquered.

and self-discovery. Through her example, she reminds us that life's greatest

rewards often lie outside our comfort zones. Whether it's conquering literal

mountains or facing the challenges that arise in our daily lives, Dana inspires

us to push beyond perceived limits and unlock our untapped potential.

I aspire to continue to follow her footsteps, not only on the mountains themselves but also in spreading the message of embracing challenges, pushing boundaries, and pursuing our dreams fearlessly.
