Mind Movies, Hormetic Stress, and Real Outcomes

Mind Movies, Hormetic Stress, and Real Outcomes

Hello, it's been a while since I accidentally spammed everyone on LinkedIn with my newsletter. I have three updates:

  1. Mind Movies: I wrote a blog post on Mind Movies. Mind movies is how I program my subconscious with something I want to achieve in the future. You've probably heard of vision maps or vision boards? This is more effective than a vision board. Mind movies are supposed to elicit emotions in you. Mind movies also are 3 to 6 minutes long. It becomes a powerful way to tie feelings with desired outcomes. When was the last time you stared at your vision board for more than 10 minutes a day? Exactly. Trust me on this one. You need to use this tool.
  2. Hormetic Stress: There is a great post by Betsy Morris from the WSJ on hormetic stress. Hormetic stress are bursts of pressure that can help your body ensure stressful times. Examples of this are HIIT training (hello figure skating programs), cold showers, ice baths, hot saunas and breathing (check out Wim Hof Method). You don't want to avoid stress, you want to train your body to deal with stress.
  3. Real Outcomes: All the biohacking and mental training paid off. I qualified for Nationals! The way adult figure skating works is you have championship round and you also have age group events. The championship round is considered the hunger games of adult figure skating. It is all age groups combined (21+) and only the top 4 from each Sectionals Championship (East, Midwest and Pacific) compete at the National event. I was hoping to squeeze into 4th place, but ended up coming in 2nd. I fight my emotions most of the time. Sometimes I wonder if I am dead inside, but I managed to feel joy and cried for 1/2 a second when I got to the hotel and had a 1:1 with my medal. It is beautiful. I'm beyond grateful for my journey.

Thank you for being so encouraging and supportive.
