Happiness attracts Misery & Misery attracts Happiness!

Happiness attracts Misery, and Misery attracts Happiness. Both Happiness and Misery are the weapons of mind which it uses to control us. The right word is consciousness, i.e. witnessing your thoughts, let the thoughts appear & disappear, we being just the watchman.
The mind is not designed for you to be successful. The mind has a particular job, i.e. survival, protection. It’s always looking for the problems.
Asking your mind to be successful is like asking your cook to do the plumbing job. Doesn’t mean the cook is the wrong person but that’s not its job. He is not qualified to do it.
The mind has a favourite phrase - ‘What if - What if this happens, What if that happens, What if this goes wrong, What if that goes wrong’.
In the starting years of my career, I am involved in one of office project, where people from top to bottom were with full of negative thoughts. Every day, someone or the other creates fear of job loss, pass the buck. I thought what if I will get fired, what if my boss will shout at me, what is he hits me, what if he sue me.
Nothing Happened, This was all my protectionist mind. I took a step back and started listening to my heart. Within no time, things improved.
We need to listen to our heart.
A few years back, we enrolled our son in karate classes. We thought he will learn self-defence and were also inspired by this movie – Karate Kid. Soon we realised his heart doesn’t lie in doing karate. He used to get the stomach ache just before the karate class, spend time in the toilet while doing karate he was looking at the chirping birds, squirrels passing by and was anxiously waiting for class to end.
It led us to identify another sport for him. He started skating and fell more than 100 times in first 2-3 days. After that also, he was falling, falling that much that people ridiculed him, passing comments, Does he have any problems with his legs etc. though he was enjoying skating a lot. He used to fall, stand up and start again.
The falling didn’t stop him as he fell in love with skating.
After a month, he asked me to get the better skates and protection kit for him.
He listened to his heart.
Today he flies on the skating ramp and is Bangalore South Club Level gold medalist. He proved It doesn’t matter if it rains or shines, I will continue to sow my seeds. It doesn’t matter if it is a happy day or a sad day, I will keep giving my best efforts.
I am not attached to the happiness and misery events and enjoying this present moment thoroughly.
Talking about the present moment,
I heard this beautiful story, where a wealthy man was looking for a person who can give him the glimpse of happiness & peace of mind. Someone sent him to one saint. The rich man visited him and asked the glimpse of joy, and in return, he gave bag filled with lots of money. The saint took the bag and ran away, and this rich man started running behind, starting crying loud.
After taking few rounds, saint threw the bag at the same place and hide behind the tree.
The rich man found his bag and felt happy and then saint came out and asked, Did you get happiness? And a man said yes, though this man had his bag with him before meeting the saint also.
Living and witnessing this moment will bring you happiness.
Being aware of your mind’s role, listen to your heart and residing in the present moment are the secrets to Mega Living.

5 年The philosophy of finding happiness in every moment is sought by many.? Attachment brings suffering.? I like your story especially the one about the rich man.? In the Bible there is a story about how a rich man asked Jesus what he should do to find the way to Heaven.? Jesus said "Give your riches to the poor and then you will be able to enter Heaven".? And the rich man went away sorrowfully because he had great wealth.
