My recent pregnancy and postpartum journey has underscored to me the importance of fitness and nutrition routines in our overall brain health and well-being. Research supports this idea that how we eat and move our bodies plays a big role in our ability to be resilient to stress and perform at our best for the things that matter most.
Therefore, as part of Heart Health Awareness month I’m excited to highlight Mastermind’s expanded expertise and programming in fitness and nutrition. This expansion has been spearheaded by my friend and colleague, author, speaker and researcher Jennifer Ventrelle, MS, RDN.
Her new book The Official MIND Diet explores the Mediterranean-DASH Diet Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay. Jennifer’s research has shown that individuals who follow the MIND diet closely reduce risk for Alzheimer’s Disease by 53% and even those who follow it moderately well reduce their risk by 35%.
