MIND - BODY CONNECTION:

Try this mini meditation throughout this week

The mind and body are connected. What happens in the body affects the mind and what happens in the mind affects the body.

In a moment of stress, deliberately taking a more wakeful, attentive posture and really focusing on it - automatically snaps us out of lethargy, worry and distractedness.

Deliberately shifting the body to sit / stand with groundedness and attention, puts us in a more positive frame of mind in that very moment. It gives us a space in which we can be a little distant from the stress.

It is crucial therefore that when we meditate, we take a posture of “wakeful dignity”.

Do this now –

1. Place your feet firmly on the ground,

2. Straighten your back, relax your shoulders, and the jawline.

3. Keeping the chin parallel to the ground, gently close your eyes. Just taking this posture of dignity and attention can help you disconnect from a stressful situation.

4. Now Tune in to the full duration of the in breath and the full duration of the out breath.

Once again… You just did a mini meditation.
