LOCAL NON-PROFIT MILWAUKEE ARTIST RESOURCE NETWORK ANNOUNCES THE ADDITION OF JOE HAUSCH AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Milwaukee Artist Resource Network (MARN) is delighted to announce the appointment of Joe Hausch as its Executive Director, effective September 4, 2024. Joe will manage the day-to-day operations and contribute to MARN's growth. Now in its 22nd year, this non-profit organization offers resources that strengthen art practices and support member artists' thriving within the local arts economy.

Joseph Hausch is a local Wisconsin entrepreneur, inventor, artist, designer, and musician who owns and operates two successful ventures. He attend Pius XI Catholic High School in Milwaukee and the attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1979 and graduated from Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design in 1984. One of his ventures is Hausch Design Agency LLC , a hybrid creative marketing communications firm that focuses on helping small organizations grow and build equity by creating vital brand programs. The other venture is PHOTAVIA ?, which creates time-relevant, all-inclusive media experiences through art, part video experience, and part education. Joe brings this incredible wealth of talent to MARN and a solid commitment to our local Wisconsin art community. His extensive business experience, years of collaboration with the art community, and dedication to fostering relationships with local businesses will create robust networking opportunities for artists within the local community.

pamela anderson , Board Chair, rejoined the MARN Board on August 1, 2024. She expressed the board's excitement about collaborating with Joe to prioritize our artist members and strengthen ties with the vibrant business community. These efforts aim to expand our Art City, draw in talent, cultivate culture, welcome diversity, and advance equity.

Joe described his excitement at being selected for the position when asked: “From a young age, my parents fostered my love for art, to which I've devoted countless hours. Over the past 35 years, I've been actively involved with nonprofits and boards, contributing significantly to fundraising, marketing, sharing my expertise, and organizing events. I am honored to support and be part of MARN's mission, aiding the wide array of artists within the MARN community” – Joe Hausch.

The Milwaukee Artist Resource Network (MARN) was founded in 2000 to connect local artists and offer professional resources. Over time, MARN expanded its mission to advocate for local artists and develop programs to address professional and economic challenges. In 2007, MARN initiated its MARNmentorship program, which pairs emerging artists with established mentors. In 2021, MARN opened the MARN Art + Culture Hub, providing gallery spaces, a marketplace, and event spaces for local artists. MARN continues to expand its services and programs, focusing on accessibility, equity, and inclusion.

MARN's impact on Milwaukee's creative economy is significant. Our relationships with our partners and community are paramount.
