Millville Man Sentenced to State Prison for Unlawful Possession of a Handgun
MAYS LANDING, NJ – Marquise Milledge, 26, of Millville, was sentenced today by the Honorable Bernard E. DeLury, Jr., P.J.Cr. to five years in state prison with a one-year period of parole ineligibility following his previous guilty plea to unlawful possession of a handgun.
The charges stem from Milledge’s arrest in Atlantic City on July 18, 2022 when Milledge was found in possession of two illegal handguns. ?Milledge was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility following his arrest and ordered detained by the court.
At sentencing, Milledge’s attorney requested that the court further depart from the negotiated sentence and instead impose a lengthy term of probation. ?The court denied Milledge’s request and agreed with the State that Milledge should be sentenced to the five-year term without being eligible for parole for at least one year.
Assistant Prosecutor Daniel Davis represented the State in this matter.
