Hundreds of buyer inspections.

It’s been a massive few weeks in the lead up to The Collective’s Auction Under the Stars event at Brisbane’s Howard Smith Wharves. This is always a must-attend occasion on the calendar for our prestige buyers and sellers, a barometer of sorts reflecting the current state of the property market. And boy, didn’t Monday night’s action live up to the hype.

One of the highlights of the night was the sale under the hammer of?6 Tenth Avenue, St Lucia?for $6.9M. It was truly a team effort to seal the deal on this beauty, with my colleague Tom Lyne working tirelessly to secure a contract within 18 days, attracting more than?85?buyer inspections and?eight?registered bidders.

Reflecting the abundance of high-end buyers interested in Brisbane real estate, we (special mention to Nick Mogridge) also celebrated the sale under the hammer of?16 Bennison St, Ascot?for $6.571M. This was the highest sale from all Saturday auctions across the city, driven by eight registered bidders, with the property eventually bought by a local family represented by a buyers’ agent. The magnificent residence was designed by renowned architect Shaun Lockyer, and constructed by prestige builder Tim Black?from Black Develpments. As my mate and legendary auctioneer Haesley Cush said, if you buy a completed product, you’re four years ahead of anyone planning to build and renovate a home of this calibre.

Traditionally, May can be a more subdued month but it’s certainly bucked the trend this year. When almost half of our Auction Under the Stars listings sell prior due to huge demand, and those that don’t get snapped up under the hammer for $6M+, it’s not too shabby at all.

I hope you enjoyed?the read.
