"A Million Miles Away" movie for your inspiration

Today I want to tell you about the movie "A Million Miles Away." It is the true story of the first Latin American astronaut. Even if you are not a fan of space, you should watch it because it is a film about how a person achieves his dream against all odds.

The main character, José Moreno Hernández, was born in 1962 in a family of Mexican immigrants. When he was a kid, the family earned a living in the U.S. by helping farmers harvest crops. Because of this, they had to constantly move from place to place, which affected the children's education. One day, a teacher named Miss Young visited the parents to discuss this issue. She explained to the parents that José had a huge potential, but due to their nomadic lifestyle, he couldn't perform well in school. The family decided to give up their dream of saving for a house so that the children could receive a good education. As a result, José graduated from university and became an engineer at NASA. His parents were very proud of him.

From early childhood, José dreamed of space. Despite working as a space engineer, he still wanted to become an astronaut. One day, he told his future wife about this dream, and she laughed, thinking it was a joke. José received 11 rejections for his astronaut applications. After the sixth rejection, his wife, Adela, asked what criteria the selected applicants met. José replied that they had pilot licenses with many flight hours (which costs tens of thousands of dollars), various sports achievements, and other accomplishments. In short, it required a lot of effort and money to increase his chances, even though the likelihood of being selected was very low. Adela dreamed of opening her own restaurant, but seeing how much José wanted to become an astronaut, she gave up her dream, and they spent the family budget on José's preparation. After that, he received five more rejections.

When José was submitting his 12th application, Adela advised him not to mail it but to deliver it in person. This way, he could show his commitment and determination. He followed his wife's advice, and he was selected for the program in May 2004. Then came rigorous training, the death of his brother, the loss of his best friend-astronaut, and other challenges, but ultimately, on August 28, 2009, he completed his mission and spent 13 days on the ISS. At the time of the flight, he was 47 years old.

This story is not only about José but also about the people who loved and supported him: his parents, who sacrificed their dream for their children's education, Miss Young, who saw potential in the boy and spoke to his parents, and of course, his wife Adela, who endured great hardships for her husband's dream. By the way, she eventually opened her restaurant near NASA. No one can achieve great things alone. My mother often said that there is always a great spouse behind every great person who remains in the shadows of their fame.

If you truly dream of something, don't fear the difficulties. There will inevitably be many obstacles on?your?way. They exist to filter out those who don't really want it that much. Achieving your dream can take a?long time. For José, it took 47 years. But it was worth it. And of course, it is crucial to have the support of your loved ones and friends, as it is simply impossible to walk such a difficult path alone. I wish you success!

I watched the trailer, and it's super uplifting! The story of achieving dreams against all odds is always motivating. One quote from the movie that stuck with me is, "If you can dream it, you can achieve it."
