The Million Dollar Doc

They are now saying it cost how much to replace a doctor?
The amount to replace an employed physician is a moving target. I just saw this:
Replacing a nurse costs the hospital $60,000 and a doctor can cost up to $1 million. Disruption in the continuity of care because of PCP turnover incurs close to $1 billion in excess health care spending every year. All of these costs are passed down to the consumer in the form of high insurance premiums and medical bills.
In my book, I discussed the numbers being between $250K to $500K but this doesn't count the chaos caused to the patients. Now imagine if a hospital spent 10% of this on a Physician Retention Program? Even Oscar Goldman would be all for that!
