Millenniums and Changes to HR

Yes or Yup, different times are upon us “now”. Several years back, the people entering the Workforce we’re the Generation X, some called them the “lost” Generation. From what I recall of this Generation, is that, most of “us” we’re “parent obeying children” that ending up being employer obeying employees. A lot of Generation X ended up buying a home, a car, having children and working everyday to achieve stability.

This paradigm changed a “little” for the Generation to come, Generation Y – The Millenniums.

Many people worry (Generation X) about the outcome of the Millenniums, and if the previous Generation was lost, this one doesn’t really give a damn.

“We” couldn’t be more wrong, just as every Generation before us.

What HR must do is adapt.

We’re not alone in this boat, Marketing, Management, Quality, Engineering and every other area you can imagine has to adapt too…

We can’t think of doing Business like Generation X for Generation X. We must think that the Market (Labour, Commercial, etc) will have several Generations in it, and the faster one adapts, the faster they will have a Competitive Advantage.

The Millenniums are without a doubt the Generation with access to the most information that ever has been available on the face of the earth and as everyone knows, information is power.

Will this power by translated to the Labour Market? I think so. We must look and act with different eyes and mentality to change.

What is Life anyways?

Which Generation is right?

Probably none before and none of the coming. Life should be a Balance between everything that makes us tick and we’re not watch’s, where a second and a minute is the same universally. We’re people that have emotions and different necessities.

Recruiting, Selection, Retention, Compensation, etc. is on the change
