Who are Millennial's ?

Millennial's are the generation that are born between (1981 - 1995) in today's scenario many of the managers have great challenges in understanding & inspiring them this creates a problem of retention at workplace. In this article as a millennial let me describe some of the insights that are expected from manager's.

  1. Understanding Millennial's - Millennial's have lot's of ideas to offer towards organizations we are optimistic, practical beyond the earlier generations but in real how many manager's spend his/her time in listening to them ? if yes, how often you connect with them ?
  2. Be as my Inspiration - Trust is word that comes to my mind when i see my manager as my inspiration it is really important to trust team & the team members for achieving goals. When my manager trust me it motivates to learn new things & drive to best results, also provide a constructive feedback on regular basis how to improve, it makes me to grow & develop myself as a top-notch worker.
  3. Act as Mentor - Learning culture is always created by where knowledge is shared continuously pick a topic ''debate'' derive the outcomes it also enhances me to develop leadership & coaching skills for the future manager's. ''Yes'' i need a mentor ''Every great achiever is inspired by a great mentor''
  4. Listen, Listen, Listen - When my manger listen to my ideas millennial feel that i am important & valued. How many of us take time to listen or rather give an excuse that have been with another meeting will discuss later,whenever it is heard feel that my efforts have not been acknowledged & feels demotivated.
  5. Work for Future -  A successful leader always works for future, yes it’s time to rebuild & adopt for the changes. Spend time with the employees to ask about his/her ideas, career aspirations & provide development opportunities. Allow them to make mistakes only by making mistakes we learn new things & guide us by fixing up the errors.
