There are many roles that a prophet has to perform in the house of God. These roles include prophecy, intercession, uplifting, pulling down strongholds, and being a watchman depending on their sphere of influence. I want to talk to the house prophet. This is the position where the prophet is assigned to the house[church]. I want to share some insights that I learned and to help the next prophet who is assigned to the house.
- Place to practiceMy call as a prophet was first recognized in the church. God revealed my call by prophetic utterance, visions of wearing a mantle[ coat of authority], and prophetic dreams. My leadership recognized the call on my life in the proper season. If under a proper Apostolic or prophetic Church hub you can learn how to utilize your gifts in the church. The beauty of having a pastor or Apostle who accepts the prophetic is you get to practice and hone your skills with God. Further, the leader if they embrace the prophetic will cover you in your initial stages of speaking the oracles of God. Since what you will speak will be raw in its initial stages the delivery will need to be worked. Sometimes we will need to word things that will be received in proper love. It does not always have to be Fire & Brimstone type of words. Further, sharing the words with your leadership it gives one a filter to know when to release words or if this insight is best just for a prayer point. Not all things we receive from the lord are meant to be shared with the person. But just at certain seasons just points to pray and intercede about. Further, the leader may have a different level of access to the congregation than what you do. They may know more personal information pertaining to that person than you. So it can be wise especially in the beginning to lean into their counsel while starting out hearing from the Lord. This is for the churches that believe and accept the Role of the Prophet. But what about the denominations that do not believe in the gifts/offices/dimensions of the prophetic? I believe this is where it gets tricky. Because there are prophets in every church and denomination but not all are accepted these individuals. For the ones who are not accepted, I will encourage you to seek the Lord's face in what your next move should be. You must understand being prophetic is a great honor but also a very dangerous gift if not trained. It can ruin churches and cause division in the church. So having a proper relationship with your leadership team is crucial.
- EnvironmentsA lot of the time prophets can prophecy in the church but can struggle with performing the function on the streets. It becomes important because we should be able to be used by God at any moment. There will be times go will unction the House Prophet speaks to individuals who are on the corners and speaks what thus says the Lord. The tricky part is that these individuals may not know who you are. This conversation can turn really bad without proper training. Eventually, each house prophet must extend themselves to do Kingdom work and be able to evangelize to people who are unchurched. I would recommend that the House Prophet get under the mentorship of a seasoned Apostle or Prophet who has experience in the Kingdom Function and Priestly function of God. Done are the days of just utilizing your talents in the 4 walls of the church.
- You will not always be receivedThe Bible tells us that a prophet is not accepted in their own home [Kin country Family]. Further, God will not do anything without first speaking to his prophets Amos 3:7. The deeper you get into a relationship with God the more he will reveal about others. Not every word you share people will want to hear. This will include the leadership you are a part of. It is important that you do not take anything personally. Just share the word that the Lord Gives and Let God do the rest. It is not your job to bring the growth. We are just mouthpieces that God uses to execute his will. Rejection is common when it comes to a prophet's journey. Not every person wants to deal with what God is saying in their lives. Moreover, taking rejection personally can contaminate the prophet's heart and can lead to harsh prophecies that come from a place of hurt. A prophet's hurt must stay pure no matter the situation. I encourage you to forgive as fast as you get hurt. It will save you a season of repeated trials.
- Trust what you seeAs a house prophet, God will bless you with a lot of discernment. As a watchman, God will show you the true motive and who is good and bad for the ministry. What you see in the spirit will a lot of times be the opposite of what is happening on the actual earth. Don't question or doubt what you see. As intercessors/Watchmen God gives us the insight so that we can share the warnings with the church before the actual event comes to pass. Prophet you are needed in the house. 1 年Thank you. There is not much spoken on the topic of a House Prophet. You just know they exist if you have been called as one or have been around churches long enough to hear whispers of them. As someone called to this position, this was a much needed read.
