Being a Founder and CEO in fast growing startup I questioned myself how to build culture in a #Team and working long term with the right people. As one said "culture eats strategy for breakfast" and I do agree.
Team needs to understand WHY we do what we create! Be aware and mindful. At Hotailors we are here to help people stay focus on their domain by simplify business travel.
Simple, yeah? But this does not come overnight.
We took a part in 5 acceleration programs, met amazing mentors who me gave pice of advice like "hire fast, fire faster". Some of them are working better some not. Is much connected with your personality as a founder. I tried to collect my understanding of people and hope you can take something from it.
This applies both to your #Team and partners in the other organizations who can help you if you understand them.
Internet/mobile Generations X/Y/Z rooted from late `70 to 90` and have completely different values and goals.
Some call them “digital natives”. Use devices and SaaS tools with ease. Bet on connectivity and mobility.
Here’s what I’ve learnt by doing amazing stuff with #generation XYZ at #Hotailors:
- Set the goals and let them figure out how to reach them.
- They would strive more to work in organization with a “flat hierarchy” like startups where everyone wears multiple hats
- Let them ask questions. They want to do meaningful things and have a reason #Why.
- Company culture is very important. They want to be associated with a cool place and renowned names. Let them buzzzz a bit ;)
5. Money is important, but it doesn’t determine their choices. If you have interesting project and atmosphere they’ll choose you instead of corpo.
6. If a Millennial fuck up first time increase his #salary, the lesson is learned. If he or she fuck up second time on the same kind of task fire right the way as you don`t have time to be babysitter! This is your lifetime project and probably not his or her.
7. Have fun. Work hard&play hard.
This tips really proved to be working and If you have some thoughts on that topic would appreciate to discuss in a #comments below.

6 年Would be interesting to see opinion of other CEOs or people who are working daily with Millennials! Agree, Generation Y needs a different approach to be productive and persistent.?
