Militarisation of a civilian government Nigerian style in Zimbabwe

Mnangagwa is a man on transit. In his place to take over after his departure democratically or by choice, is a set of military generals now lined up, either as presidents or vice-presidents. The Zanu PF chess game is now unfolding and playing itself in preparation for a stranglehold on political power forever. These men and women have plundered and looted Zimbabwe's wealth for 37 years under autocrat Mugabe and will do anything to preserve and even increase their loot at any cost. The rhetoric that "Zimbabwe's presidency is a straight jacket that can only be worn by former cadres of the 1970s revolution" plot is now beginning to lay itself bare for all of us to see.

Right at the top of the conspiracy is the king maker himself, Constantine Chihwenga. He has his sights strikingly glued on the seat of presidency like a hawk. He has been deliberately left out of Mnangagwa's cabinet line up to fend of suspicion. While another plan is to make sure that the Zezuru people of Mugabe are from now forever marginalised from ever grabbing power again, Karanga and Ndebele representation in future power grabs have now been firmly embedded and consolidated in Mnangagwa's cabinet. Like wise, chances of the opposition ever gaining power in the next 50 years, are now perpetually slim unless the masses stage an uprising against the junta and its puppet governments along the way. Its very likely that the rigging formula will from now on-wards intensify to make sure nothing will stop Chihwenga from his hidden ambition of taking over from Mnangagwa if and when he leaves office.

Mnangagwa is bent on playing the "Pontias Pilate" card of attempting to absolve himself from any past "crimes against humanity" by casting himself as a born again Christian and eventually be seen to be giving up power voluntarily whereas in actual fact he will be acting to fulfil a deal most likely struck with Chihwenga. As for Shiri and Moyo, its very likely they are likely to become 1st and 2nd future vice presidents while the less ambitious General Sibanda will prefer to eventually withdraw to spend his remaining days in retirement.

The main reason why there has been a power take over and grab within Zanu PF itself is because there was panic and worry among many of those who had been collectively in power with Mugabe during his 37 years rule that if power had been taken over by people who had no Chimurenga background, most of them would be arraigned before criminal courts for crimes against humanity as well as a wanton looting and plunder of the nation's coffers. After all has been said and done, the only thing Zimbabweans have to celebrate is a change of face in the leadership even though that face is unlikely to bring any positive yields in their lives. This is my own opinion and time will surely tell!
