Milestones, Momentum, and More: Association Update

Greetings and Introduction;

Dear Association Members,

Welcome aboard the voyage of progress! As we embark on this reflective journey, it is with immense pride and joy that we extend our heartfelt welcome to our AFIK members.

Time has flown by, brimming with moments that define our shared dedication and hard work. This newsletter serves as a beacon, illuminating the path we've travelled, and the highs and lows we have faced.

As we take stock, we invite you to celebrate with us. Join us in acknowledging the tireless efforts, the shared triumphs, and the unwavering spirit that propels us forward into a future filled with promise and possibilities.

Some key happenings?

1. For the first time, the association met with the governor of the central bank where we articulated our mission as an association.?
2. The signing of an MOU between the Association of Fintechs in Kenya, Kenya Bankers Association and Financial? Sector Development(FSD) for an open banking policy framework.
3. The enactment of new regulations for digital credit providers by the Central Bank of Kenya.
4. Several fintechs have now received their PSP licence. Some of them are Viewtech, Web Tribe Limited, Cellulant Kenya Limited, Pesapal Limited, Jumia Payment Services, Craft Silicon Limited, Eclectics International, Virtual Pay, Direct Pay, Pesawise, Paystack, Pesaflow, DLocal Payments among others.
5. The association received a courtesy call from the U.S. Department of the Treasury led by the Undersecretary of the Treasury, Brian Nelson, where we discussed matters of mutual interest from AML/CFT issues and the regulatory environment, Financial Inclusion, impactful funding and other pertinent issues.
