Milestones, Celebrations, & Goals: Safe House Project October 2024 Updates
Celebrating 1,000 Survivors Served YTD in 2024
(...and counting)
Last month our Survivor Support team reached a new milestone: we served 1,000 survivors so far in 2024. At the beginning of the year, we set a wildly important goal of serving 1,500 survivors, and we are well on our way to reaching that never-before-seen goal. The end of each year typically results in an uptick of placement requests, so we are preparing to serve 500 more before the close of the year.?
?
Will you help us reach that wild goal? Donate today.
?
Each dollar raised for our survivor support team helps directly fund needed resources for helping survivors exit their trafficking situation and get to long-term safety so they can start their healing journey. From Uber rides to flights to meals to hotels -- your support changes lives.?

We couldn't be more excited at the success of our Hampton Roads gala, Light Up the Night, held October 5th in Virginia Beach! Over 250 people showed up to celebrate, learn, and invest in bringing hope and healing to all trafficking survivors. The evening consisted of an update on our 2024 impact, a testimony from survivor leader and SHP staff member Alia Dewees, live and silent auctions, and dancing the night away. Professional photos from the evening will be available soon. THANK YOU to all those who attended and supported this momentous evening! Mark your calendars now for next year's event on October 11, 2025.?
SHP in the Community
The JUST Conference is?just Around the Corner
Two of our SHP staff members will be presenting at this annual conference focused on juvenile sex trafficking. Their session is titled "Collaborative Networks: Building Effective National Responses for Exploited Youth in Crisis," and will delve into the urgent issue facing exploited youth nationwide: the lack of safe and supportive environments and systemic barriers to care. If you'll be attending, please stop by and say "hello!" We'd love to connect.?
God's Heart Trainings Take Off in September
We were honored to partner with various churches and religious organizations throughout the month of September to host God's Heart to Eradicate Trafficking trainings. These involved an overview of the state of human trafficking in America, and walked through faith-based conversations around how their faith community can be involved.?
Would your church or faith-based organization be interested in a training? Contact Emily today to get one scheduled.
