Milestone, Unlocked

I realized that after years of being a wordsmith, I haven't really written anything for myself here. I also realized that yesterday was my 5th year anniversary at TaskUs.

Those 5 years flew so fast. I remember joining the organization in 2015, 3 months without a permanent job, burnt out, and seemingly purposeless after leaving my previous company. I wasn’t necessarily looking for new work, but an opportunity opened up before me. Even without knowing what I was getting myself into (it was my first time stepping foot into the industry), I took the chance.

I remember my first day, unbelieving first at the idea of having an orientation that would end at 9  in the evening. Halloween was also being celebrated on-site, and it amused me to see people gamely dressed up for the event. I only knew lightly of the company’s Be Ridiculous motto when I started that day, and upon experiencing TaskUs for just a few hours, I had a deep appreciation for it.

Fast forward to today, and here I am, having grown from the fun, Be Ridiculous TaskUs days when I began. TaskUs is a place where I am inspired to learn more and to embrace things I am passionate about. Since I started in the organization, I’ve only been opening doors of possibilities, never dead ends.

Every day is a new day and it keeps me on my toes. Whereas years ago I’ve decided that 5 years in one company were long enough, this anniversary is different. I think of these 5 years as a milestone, readying me for more of what’s to come.
