Milestone Unlocked: Calgary's BMO Event Centre Reaches Substantial Completion

Our team wants to congratulate the Calgary Stampede for achieving substantial completion on their project located at the BMO Event Centre. On March 13th 2024, the dignitaries from the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation hosted a ceremony handing over the keys to the owners, the Calgary Stampede. Present were the officials engaged in the project, including the construction managers, consultants, managers, esteemed guests and city officials including Mayor Gondek.
The expansion of the current building extends the square footage to 565,000 across new space and three levels. Doubling the size of the previous rentable area and making the center the largest convention space in Western Canada. The new space will include 3 ballrooms, 38 meeting rooms and larger exhibition space.
Substantial completion means the construction project have achieved a phase in the project where the owner can use the space for their intended work.
This major capital project will boost the Calgary economy by bringing in an approximate of $223 million dollars into the city’s economy
Upcoming notable events is the Rotary Convention which will attract up to 33,000 guests and the Global Energy Show
