Goodbye Ventura Centrale. We will be waiting for your "back on track"

I was reached out (few minutes ago) with one of the most distressing news I could ever receive due to the Coronavirus's shattering.

Margriet Vollenberg, founder and art director of Ventura Projects, sadly had to make the impossible and heartbreaking decision to stop all Ventura Projects activities, leaving a massive gap in the entire design world.

I would like to pay tribute to this incredible woman and her passionate organisation. Milan and the world are losing one of the best New Entertainment Design's event.

Covid_19 has destroyed most of the cultural and economic activities in the world. Milano has been hit with the cancelation of all its best events. Ventura Centrale's cancellations for Design Week had a massive and irreversible impact on the Dutch firm. After many successful editions the Ventura Projects events, organised by Organisation in Design, will no longer be on show during Milan Design Week and other international design events in the future.

I had my best design video playlist filmed in VENTURA CENTRALE and Margriet Vollenberg supported my floating design video magazine "The Italian Way".

Thanks to the amazing Central Station's warehouses set up with Ventura Centrale's international guests I had the chance to film the most amazing video playlists about design. David Rockwell, Nippon Printing, Richard Hutten, Maarting Baas, Stephan Hurlemann, Lensvelt, Rapt Studio, Atsushi Nakashima, Editamateria, Agc Tokyo,

Thanks Ventura Project and Margriet Vollenberg to have made Milan Design Week more exciting! We want you back soon.

About Ventura Projects in Milan

Ventura Projects were curated exhibition areas –organized by Utrecht- and Milan-based company Organisation in Design– that covered the latest developments in contemporary design. In 2010, Ventura Lambrate formed the launch of a completely new design district in Milan during Milan Design Week. As the first fully curated area of the Fuorisalone, the event focused strongly on quality, uniqueness and research, and highlighted conceptual and new expressions of international design. During the last two years, Ventura Future, partnering with BASE Milano, was the place to be to explore the best of contemporary design from a mix of international academies, designers, brands and labels. And from its first edition in 2017, Ventura Centrale was an instant success and proved itself as an indispensable stop on the Milan Design Week itinerary. Exhibiting in the vaulted warehouses of the Milan central railway station, it provided a stage for brands that master the art of storytelling. Through captivating installations, brands showed their skills and fortitude to the Design Week audience.

The impact has been hard on many. Sorry to hear that this wonderful group, which brought so many great projects to the public, is now discontinuing its operations. Let's stay strong and keep preparing for a new day. Thanks Simona Cochi for keeping the finger on the pulse and your tenacity as a journalist to share news and look for solutions. FORZA ITALIA.
