THE ART OF DREAMS
Porshce aims to explore the interplay of nature and technology in a dream-like, immersive installation on display at Palazzo Cleric, with an installation by floral artist Ruby Barber of Studio Mary Lennox.
Ruby Barber has developed a beautiul sculptural artwork that mixes the fragility of flowers with the promise of modern technology. The installation, which is already captivating in its resting condition, comes to life for choreographed performances.
The artist cooperated with flight engineers and a dozen dedicated drone pilots during a lengthy creative development process to produce a never-before-seen art experience. Ideas first conceived in the virtual realm of renderings and animations are brought to life, providing the observer with bizarre views and sensations. The installation pays homage to the pioneering spirit of the sports car company while also raising subtle issues about the role of technology, its contribution, and its relationship to environment.
“I am curious to explore the connections between nature and the modern human environment, the possible interactions between botanics and technology are particularly intriguing to me. In this work, I dreamt of a meeting place between the two worlds, fusing the both together to create a space for a new experience”, says the floral artist Ruby Barber.
