Migration of Visafone Subscribers to MTN's GSM/LTE Platform

Y’ello All,

Following the NCC approval of MTN’s acquisition of Visafone Communications Limited, we are pleased to announce the start of migration of existing Visafone subscribers from Visafone CDMA to MTN’s GSM platform.   

This migration will enable our Visafone subscribers to have access to wider coverage than they used to on the previous Visafone network.

It will also ensure that we remain in sync with our overall goal to leverage the combined resources of both networks to deepen the growth and roll- out of broadband services across the country.

To complete the migration process, all Visafone subscribers will be required to swap their old CDMA SIM for a new GSM SIM at any MTN or Visafone service centre/shop. However, they will retain the same number and will continue to enjoy the same tariffs as they previously did.

Please note that this swap is free of charge and customers will not suffer any loss of value by way of this migration process.
