Migrating from Windows to Android
In 2016, Microsoft announced that in 2020 they would be ending support for all windows embedded operating systems. This means that those who remain on a windows embedded operating system are leaving themselves at risk of security threats.
The conversation around making the switch started in 2016, but for many businesses it still remains only to be a conversation. Time is ticking, and now businesses do really need to start taking action.
A lot of the conversations around Microsoft ending support has been quiet negative, telling you how at risk your business will be if they fail to make the switch to Android. But there are a lot of benefits of making the switch too, not only will you receive updates and stay secure but upgrading to Android devices will also resolve wireless connectivity and roaming issues, increasing productivity.
Android devices offer a familiar interface, this results in end users requiring less training as they will already be familiar with some features on the device.
Though the risks are real, and significant switching to Android can also offer a generous ROI. With new products such as the TC8300 equipped with an Android platform improving productivity for end users by 14%. So, there are many benefits to switching, and you should really do so now to be ready for 2020.
