Migraines - Everything You Want to Know

A migraine is a type of headache that can cause throbbing pain on one side of the head. It often comes with symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound.

Most common are: Chocolate, Dairy foods, some fruits, meat, onion, nuts and seeds etc.

Migraine runs in families and affect more women than men. Migraine attacks last anywhere from 4 to 72 hours.

Treatment:

Lifestyle adjustments including stress management and avoiding triggers.

Over-the-counter pain medications like NSAIDs or acetaminophen and prescription medications to prevent migraine attacks.

Prevention:

Learn the foods, smells, and situations that trigger your migraine attacks and avoid those things.

Stay hydrated.

Maintaining regular meal times.

Get quality sleep.

Quit smoking and drinking.

Reduce stress.

Exercise regularly.

There is no specific cure for migraines, but managing symptoms and avoiding triggers can help reduce their frequency and severity.
