Why We Exist

Families of children with autism deserve more than just therapy—they deserve support, a dedicated team that sees their child’s potential, and to create momentum from that potential. We founded Midwest to bridge the gap between science and heart, offering evidence-based ABA therapy that prioritizes dignity, Neuropositivity, respect, and meaningful progress for every child we serve.

For us, this is personal

According to the National Autism Data Center, 1 in 35 children in the U.S. are on the autism spectrum. Our own staff and leadership have children with autism, family members with autism and we have several employees throughout our organization who consider themselves “near-divergent,” or have been diagnosed with autism. We see it as a super-power waiting to be unlocked! That’s why we are passionate about creating meaningful progress for each child – we see so much beauty and purpose in each and every patient and we are honored to be able to help unlock the potential just waiting to be discovered.

Why the Des Moines Metroplex?

We chose the Des Moines metro area because we saw an urgent need for high-quality ABA services. Families here, like so many across the Midwest and country, often face long waitlists, inconsistent care, and a lack of individualized support. We are here to change that. Des Moines offers a tight-knit, family-oriented community, making it the perfect place to build relationships, collaborate with local schools, and provide accessible, life-changing therapy.
