• U.S. House passes bill to fight oil and gas price gouging | Reuters The U.S. House passed a bill on Thursday that allows the U.S. president to issue an energy emergency declaration, making it unlawful for companies to excessively increase gasoline and home fuel prices.
• U.S. Senator Warren plans bill to crack down on blank check deals | Reuters ?Democratic U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren is planning a bill to crack down on the special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC, industry after a "proliferation" of bad deals that have often resulted in huge losses for investors, according to a report to be released Tuesday seen by Reuters.

• Piracy in the Gulf of Guinea - New Legislation in Nigeria - Lexology One of the key objectives of the new law is to provide effective measures to assist Nigeria in its fight against terrorism and the financing of terrorism.
• Guinea-Bissau sees crackdown on press freedom - Frontline (thehindu.com) Guinea-Bissau's government closed 79 radio stations nationwide in April after the expiry of a last-minute 72-hour deadline to pay license fees. They fell silent. No information, no news — just dead air.
• Guyana government in talks over law to structure hemp industry (hemptoday.net) The government of Guyana has started talks regarding legislation aimed at establishing a hemp industry in the country.
• Honduras Repeals Charter Cities Law - Latino Rebels The government on Monday?repealed a law?that authorized self-governing economic zones known as “ZEDEs.” This decision forced foreign investors in Honduras to pause plans to develop in these zones. President Xiomara Castro said that Monday’s repeal was “historic” and the country was “recovering its sovereignty.”
