Midweek Pause for Peace - being a poet of peace
What does a peace poet look like?
And how do they sound?
Are they speaking out, or is their role to reflect and draw us into a different place? One we wouldn’t approach except in their company.
One thing I do suspect is that they wouldn’t sell us binary answers wrapped in simplistically charged language.
Because peace is bigger than victory.
So, let’s pause for a moment and join with all those who seek peace, especially in the current hot spots worldwide.
Let’s not forget that people are suffering, and the pall of violence is dehumanising life and destroying place and planet.
Let’s pause and seek to ‘Live like a poet’ (Satish Kumar)

1 年Sometimes, a point is best made when we can see what is best not done Sue Heatherington You highlight that with such clarity: “One thing I do suspect is that they wouldn’t sell us binary answers wrapped in simplistically charged language.” When wrapped in fear and the stakes are high, we may be drawn to simplicity as a false sense of security. We hear it daily when an expert says, “THE problem is…”. Rarely is there a single problem to solve a complex dilemma. Perhaps more importantly, rarely are we not in some way part of the problem. If that is possibly so, then the solution begins with looking inward. Thank you Sue Heatherington
