Midweek Gyan - Unleashing Clarity : My Journey with "Think Straight" by Darius Foroux
If we want to think straight all the times, we must stay grounded, look at facts, listen to other people’s perspectives, and only then draw practical conclusions.
Based on someone's recommendation, I read a book "Think Straight" by Darius Foroux. One cannot expect big things, but a really helpful light book in practice.
One sentence to describe our paradigm in this book: We think we know ourselves, yet we do not. This book has been a game-changer for me, and I'm excited to share how its principles have transformed my perspective.
As I am trying to understand and compensate for this, I feel that I usually do this. I am panicking about things that I can’t control, and sometimes I want to find the ideal solution right away, which makes me more stressed. And, as I discovered the hard way, I frequently use useless thoughts rather than effective ones (think straight and fast.) If you relate to this, perhaps it’s time for you to shift your mind too.
The Power of Clear Thinking
Imagine your mind as a cluttered room, filled with distractions and noise. "Think Straight" taught me the art of decluttering—sweeping away the unnecessary to reveal the essentials. Just like cleaning a messy room, clearing the mind allows for focus and productivity.
Question Assumptions
Assumptions are like blindfolds that limit our vision. "Think Straight" encouraged me to remove the blindfold and see things from different angles. Just like adjusting the lens of a camera, shifting perspectives reveals hidden details and insights.

Overall, this book is an excellent example of how to be aware of our thoughts. Take a moment to correlate it with our lives, try to connect the dots, and take this as a sign that can change the mind into a “better place” to think. This is one of the books which needs to read regularly. Just like meditation "Thinking Straight" is a practice that needs to be followed.
