Midnight Charity Rambler

Have you heard about the 'Midnight Rambler'? Well, this one is a Charitable Gambler...
I have decided to climb Mount Snowdon on Saturday 16th October in complete darkness with the hope of reaching the summit by midnight and back down by dawn: this represents an ascent and decent from and to sea level of a combined 7,120 feet – I have set myself a target of raising £1 per foot of ascent and decent, so £7,120 which is not an inconsiderable sum to be asking friends and colleagues to support.
Why I hear you ask...the answer is, I'm raising funds in memory of Stephen Campbell, my dear brother-in-law and great friend, who tragically died in October 2020 from a rare illness that is frontotemporal dementia (FTD).?This tragically cut short his career as a barrister and stole his thoughtful, caring, cheeky character leaving the world a poorer place without him.?However, in Stephen’s memory his family has set up a charitable foundation to support Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust because their research will help others diagnosed with FTD.?I know Stephen’s generous outlook would wholeheartedly approve of this initiative, especially as the charitable donations will fund research to improve diagnosis and treatment, and hopefully even prevention, of a disease which presently has no known cure.??
I feel I have set myself a decent fund-raising mountain and very much hope you will be able to contribute.?The Snowdon climb will not be without its challenges, I’m sure, but compared to what Stephen suffered it will be a stroll in the park, albeit in the dark.?Please give generously to this midnight rambler …and feel free to share this message and link to Just Giving
